A public talk on Sufism |

A sweeping, fundamentally Sufi view of the journey of awakening, the consecration of the heart, the safety of the soul. Overarching, yet concise, sophisticated yet accessible, this recording has emerged as a popular 'spoken introduction' to Sufism in the lineage of Hazrat Inayat Khan. |
Inter-religious Reconciliation – Part 1 |

In this series of talks, Pir Zia extends Hazrat Inayat Khan's vision of inter-religous reconciliation with an over-arching appraisal of planetary prophetology, its sources and context, its moral and epistemological relevance to sacred and secular worlds, and the profound potential an inclusive vision of revelation holds for addressing the question of meaning in our own time. Part one interprets key modes of historical thought and practice within the Sufi School of Love which affirm the unity of the prophetic impulse, suggesting a contemporary trans-cultural model for exploring the source of revelation, and the guidance such an investigation might afford for integration at the planetary level. |

Continuing to envision the shape of a planetary prophetology, part two focuses on the historical 'merging of the two oceans' occurring when the Sufi School of Illumination shone its spotlight simultaneously on the oceanic sources of divine revelation within Islam and Vedanta. At this time, the technique of exegesis, a universal devotional practice allowing for deep comparative insight within and into the Scriptures of each religious dispensation, was deliberately, methodically, and radically extended inter-textually across different religious forms. The results suggest a synergy: uniquely differentiated Scriptures shine light upon each other, catalyzing a deeper strata of meaning embedded within the archetype of The Book, allowing an inclusive vision of revelation to emerge. |

In part three, Pir Zia explains how the concrete benefits of such mutual engagement, assiduously developed over many generations, entered the embrace of the Chisti lineage at all levels - theological, prophetological and ritual - providing the building blocks of a universal perspective which, in time, gifted Hazrat Inayat Khan a cognitive paradigm for reformulating the tenets of the School of Love, thereby anticipating the total religion, the meeting place that is the summation of the multiplicity of revelations. Pir Zia concludes this section with an attempt to identify the core principles of the Path of Love. |

Part four begins with a prepared, rigorously concentrated critique of the challenges and hopes shaping contemporary efforts to formulate and meaningfully experience the spiritual heritage of the planetary ecumene. Then, asking 'Where is prophesy today?' Pir Zia describes spiritual practices which afford the humble and sincere seeker of the quintessence of guidance access to four primary sources of meaning and inspiration, past and present. |

Acknowledging the subordination of women as a global phenomenon, present within every major world religion, and insisting on the urgent need for a planetary prophetological vision to reaffirm the egalitarian message which is the ultimate truth of revelation, Pir Zia discusses the principle of the Divine Feminine, the nature of the Feminine in the prophetic transmission, and several mythological and historical women masters, saints, and prophets. |

Elaborating upon Philo Judaeus' novel synthesis of the great sources of western civilization - Greek philosophical thought and the prophetic legacy of the Semitic cycle of revelation - Pir Zia builds upon the theme of planetary prophetology by proposing that Plato's description of 'inspired frenzy' provides keen insights into four essential aspects of the prophetic life, function and personality - qualities we must awaken within ourselves if we are to answer the need of the day, and fulfill our own purpose as individuals. |

In posing the question, 'What is the way forward?', Pir Zia's entreaty for urgently revisioning the shopworn shibboleths of contemporary civilization posits that authentic guidance for those exploring the frontier of Reality's self-disclosure is not to be unearthed in the dominant epistemologies of our age but, rather, abounds in those deeper, vaster sources which collect, synthesize and integrate the profoundest sacred visions of the single lineage of wisdom which spans the globe. Identifying four key fields of gnosis in a universal 'house of wisdom', he describes techniques for accessing dormant faculties of guidance which come to us through the heart. |

In part two, Pir Zia continues with this theme, suggesting that the same divine guidance which inflamed each prophetic dispensation is available to us today if we attune our hearts to the personalities of the prophets - a 'cloud of witnesses' who mirror precisely those qualities of being we need to manifest in order to become more fully ourselves as we respond to the challenges of a post-prophetic age. |
